Usage Instructions

Setup

Prepare the Surface: Before applying the decal, ensure the surface is clean and free from dirt, dust, or oils. For glass or plastic, use a standard cleaner. For metals, use a solvent like naphtha or rubbing alcohol. Dry the surface with a lint-free cloth. If applying to freshly painted surfaces, allow the paint to cure for at least 3 weeks before applying the decal.

Position the Decal: Hold the decal against the surface to check the fit and position. Use masking tape to temporarily hold it in place. Tape the decal at the center, either horizontally or vertically, depending on your preference.

Apply the Decal: Peel the backing paper off from the bottom (or top) corner of the decal. Slowly pull at an angle greater than 160° to avoid stretching or tearing the vinyl. If you’re using
application fluid, lightly spray the surface where the decal will go. This allows for easy repositioning and smooth application.

Smooth the Decal: Once the decal is in position, gently press it onto the surface using a squeegee. Start from the center and work your way towards the edges to remove any air bubbles or wrinkles. Repeat for the opposite half of the decal.

Final Touches: Use the squeegee to press out any remaining air bubbles or wrinkles from the center to the outer edges. Carefully remove the transfer tape from the top of the duck flag decal. If any part of the vinyl doesn’t stick, gently press it back down with the transfer tape and use the squeegee to secure it.

Troubleshooting: If any air bubbles or wrinkles remain, place the wax backing paper (saved earlier) over the duck flag decal and press out the imperfections with the squeegee. For stubborn air bubbles, use a pin to gently puncture the bubble and press the air out.

Maintenance

To clean the duck flag decal, use a soft cloth and mild soap with water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scrubbers that may damage the vinyl. If you notice any peeling or lifting at the edges, press the decal back down gently with the squeegee. Reapply wax or other surface protectants to freshly cleaned surfaces if you’ve removed any protective coatings like car wax.

Notes:

Chrome Version: The Chrome decal adds an extra level of shine and style. Note that there’s an additional charge of $1.50 for the Chrome option.
Surface Considerations: Ensure the surface is smooth and free of contaminants before applying the decal. Avoid surfaces that are textured or heavily curved, as these may affect adhesion.
